Are your TexFlex debit card purchases eligible?
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) guidelines require Inspira to verify all purchases made with the TexFlex debit card are eligible expenses. During the plan year, Inspira may ask you to send documents to prove that your card purchases are truly eligible expenses. Be sure to save your receipts, statements and Explanations of Benefits (EOBs) just in case.
If you get a letter by mail or email or you see an alert posted on your online account, respond immediately to keep your card active.
To learn more about verifying your card purchases, review the TexFlex debit card verification guide.
Need to verify a card purchase? Here’s what to send.
The best type of documentation to send is the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurance company. If you don’t have an EOB, you can send an itemized statement.
Keep in mind, your documents must include these five things:
1. Patient name
2. Provider name
3. Date(s) of service (not date of payment)
4. Type or description of service
5. Your cost, which is the final amount you owe after any discounts or insurance payments are fully applied
Note: We can’t accept documents with an “pending” or “estimated” amount due, even if it had already been paid to the provider.
